The Bible clearly teaches us that we must be "born again", or accept Jesus as our savior to be saved. This is good news because it is really simple! He does not tell us that we must work hard, be perfect, do everything right or even follow the religious rules of man. Rather, the Bible teaches us that salvation is as simple as....A....B....C! It really is that simple!
A.......Admit that you have sinned. The Bible teaches us that we have all sinned. We have all sinned and fell short of the glory of God. That's right, none of us are perfect! Actually, the Bible says that we all are even born with a sin nature that is passed down from the first man who sinned, Adam. So the first step in receiving Jesus or being born again, is to admit to God that you have sinned and messed up.
B.......Believe that Jesus is the only begotten Son of God, who died for our sins and rose again three days later and is alive today in heaven at the right hand of the Father. We all have sinned and that is why Jesus came to die. He came to die being perfect as a substitute for our imperfect life. The Bible teaches and even secular history witness to the fact, that Jesus died for our sins on a Roman Cross but three days later He rose again. In order to be saved we must believe this to be the absolute truth. The Bible says whoever will believe in their heart that Jesus died and rose again and will confess with their mouth Jesus as Lord, will be saved!
C.......Confess with your mouth Jesus as Savior. In addition to believing that Jesus died and rose again we must confess Him as our savior and receive Him into our life. You see, accepting Jesus or being born again is more than just believing that this is all true. It's good to believe but we must go one step farther and receive! Many falsely think, "that just because I believe in God everything will be ok when I die", but nothing could be farther from the truth. We must receive Jesus into our lives by confessing with our mouth that Jesus is alive and He is MY savior. So to wrap this up, Jesus came and died so that you and I could have life. He came and died so that His perfect innocent shed blood could forgive our sin when we receive Him as our Savior. If you want to receive Jesus right now and you believe with all of your heart and soul that Jesus is the only begotten son of God who died yet rose again and is alive today in heaven, then I ask you to pray and receive Him today!
When we ask the question, "Do you know Jesus", we are not asking, "Do you go to church?" or "Are you religious?" or "Were you raised in church?" or "Are you a good person?" Rather, have you personally entered into a relationship with Jesus? Are you walking with Him daily and repenting of sin? If the answer is no, then as we have already shared, salvation is truly as simple as ABC! We invite you to pray and receive Jesus today. The Bible says, "Today is the day of salvation, behold now is the accepted time."
Father, I come to you right now. I admit and confess that I am a sinner. I have sinned and I have messed up. I believe that Jesus Christ died for me on the cross and I believe that He rose again and is alive today. I confess Jesus as my savior and I receive Jesus into my life as my savior right now, and I ask you to save me and forgive my sins. In Jesus name I pray.
